If you are a March baby your gemstone is one that evokes blue skies and calm waters. Aquamarine is the blue form of the gemstone beryl (when it is green we call it emerald, and pink, morganite). The name comes from the Latin aqua, meaning water, and marine, meaning sea. It was often worn as a talisman by sailors to calm rough seas. From deep green-blue to soft pale blue stones, aquamarine has long symbolised purity of spirit and soul. Wearing aquamarine is said to aid learning about the inner self and universal truths. Aquamarine is also used to mark 19th wedding anniversaries.
