Today is a very emotional day for me as I say goodbye to my lovely little shop, a shop that has served me so well for my first two years in business, a shop that allowed me to realise my dreams & brought me through all of those worry filled days too.
After only 2 years I feel like this shop is all I have ever known and yet as I sit here, amongst empty cabinets and cardboard boxes, it feels like only yesterday I was putting it together. Funny how time plays tricks on us!
Onwards and upwards as they say and that is certainly what we are doing here. I couldn’t be happier with the new store – as I mentioned in my last blog post it was so important that every detail was as good as or better than my first shop and I think that we have achieved that. The archway and dropped ceiling have turned out beautifully and while the search for the new floor wasn’t as easy as I’d hoped, the end result is stunning.
As I type the new workshop is being installed – we won’t know ourselves with the space! A place for all of our tools and a station set up for each process that is involved in making a piece of jewellery. We’ll have two workbenches now as well…. what a change from our tiny little space in the first shop!
he other area that I am so pleased with is our office & storage space. We have been eating our lunch surrounded by boxes, coats and tools for too long now! Time for some space to sit and work behind the scenes – this will much more conducive to design work and probably a better place to write blog posts from too!
The view of our new shop from all angles is better than I had imagined (now that the pink is gone that is!). It really brightens the look of the whole mall and because of the angle of our new windows, we now get daylight into our store.
We will be closed tomorrow 30th June and possibly Tuesday 1st of July. We’ll post on our facebook page as soon as we are ready to open the new store and look forward to seeing you there in the near future. We are also planning a big bash for September to officially launch the new store – more details to follow.
Time for me to get back to work!
