Jewellery engraving is different for everyone! Sometimes it is lovely to have a special little something engraved on the inside of a ring or on the back of cufflinks or a pendant. Beyond initials, names and dates, you could also engrave an image, a nickname, a GPS reference or a fingerprint! The choices are endless – nearly everything can be hand or laser engraved.
In the case of wedding rings, we recommend thinking about and discussing engraving with your fiancée before coming in to order your bands. Do remember that you don’t have to opt for engraving – you may prefer to keep life simple!
If you would like to mark a special occasion, engraving is also possible on lots of our pendants, bangles and cufflinks. It is worth noting that pieces with engraving cannot be returned for exchange.

- HOW DOES IT WORK?
Simple! We take a copy of the fingerprint using ink and paper and take it from there! It’s generally the fingerprint of a partner that is engraved. Children’s fingerprints can also be used, as long as the child is 2 years or older (any younger and the fingerprint isn’t defined enough yet to work for this).
- CAN A FINGERPRINT BE ENGRAVED ON ANY STONECHAT RING?
Yes, although a wider ring will show more of the print. For optimum results a 4mm wide ring or wider is best.
Unfortunately, we do not have the facility to engrave fingerprints on rings that have been bought elsewhere – we can only provide this service for rings ordered with us.
- HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
From €110 per fingerprint.
